The International Games Inventors’ Fair is being given a new and modern backdrop.

The Bavarian Games Archive has entered into a new cooperation agreement with the Nuremberg Spielwarenmesse. The Inventors’ Fair is being integrated into Nuremberg’s International Spielwarenmesse and will now be called the International Game Inventor Convention.

Brussels Hall has been reserved on Friday 2nd February 2024 for the inventors’ fair. This means that between 9 am and 6 pm, editors will have just a short journey through a couple of halls and will be able to view the ideas on show at leisure. Then from 6 pm to 10 pm, all participants are invited to a games party, the “Gaming Hour”.

The advantage of this new offer to you as a games author? Whereas previously only a few editors would be present at the relevant events, representing their colleagues, now all editors and all games publishers will be able to view the prototypes on offer. Because everyone comes to Nuremberg and now they’ll be just a few steps away, within the fair itself.

The idea is to give every author the opportunity to spend enough time talking to the publishers. For this reason, the number of participants is restricted. This has proved a helpful approach for the last 25 years of the International Games Inventors’ Fair in Munich.

Looking back over a quarter of a century, the inventors’ fair in Munich-Haar achieved a lot. A large number of games have already found their way to a publisher and to success on the market. We don’t want to stop there. Instead, with our bold new stimulus we aim to provide even shorter paths and even closer connections between authors and publishers.
